ICS, WISTA & CMLA host summer drinks in Montreal

The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (ICS) Canada Branch, Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) Canada and the Canadian Maritime Law Association (CMLA) jointly hosted a summer drinks event on August 22nd 2017 in Montreal.

Over fifty people turned out for a very pleasant evening at Bevo Bar & Pizzeria in Old Montreal. These included maritime industry professionals from all three organisations. It was particularly nice to welcome an enthusiastic group of students from the Transport & Logistics program at Champlain College!

Students would be interested to know that ICS, WISTA and CMLA are all very supportive of maritime education. ICS runs courses and holds exams which lead to certification and membership. WISTA recently announced scholarships for students studying for ICS Foundation Diploma. And CMLA has established the “Professor William Tetley Award” for high-quality educational articles, papers or publications on any topic pertinent to the marine industry.
