ICS Canada presented Challenges Facing Shipping
Challenges facing shipping industry were discussed at the seminar held by ICS Canada Branch together with British Columbia Chamber of Shipping in Vancouver, BC on February 4th, 2016. Presentation was made by Captain Stephen Brown.
Among matters covered were the tonnage oversupply, challenges faced by the carriers operating at low freight rates, influence of the geopolitical turbulence on the industry as well as some local issues related to development of the new terminals. Particular attention was paid to the environmental projects on the BC Coast, public concerns over the increase of the seaborne trade on the coast.
Event was well attended with all 60 seats sold out.
